Disneyland Deal

We are in the midst of planning an annual Disneyland trip for my daughter's upcoming birthday and, coincidentally, I had another reader ask me if I knew of any great deals. Since I've done a little research and found a really great deal, I'd thought I'd share... maybe you're going, planning to go, or know someone who is going.

I've compared prices on Mousesavers (usually have the best prices), Costco, and on the Disneyland site -- then I found this deal for tickets through Get Away Today. It's good through the rest of the year... I'm still searching for even cheaper tickets (if they're out there) and, of course, we'll bring our own food & water into the theme parks to help cut costs as well. But, really, why are these tickets so expensive!?
  • 2-Day Park Hopper Passes: Gate Prices: $151 (Adults) $131 (Child) NEW G.A.T. Price $143 (Adults) $123 (Child) Savings= $8/Ticket
  • 3-Day Park Hopper Passes: Gate Prices: $204 (Adults) $174 (Child) NEW G.A.T. Price $174 (Adults) $144 (Child) Savings= $30/Ticket
  • 4-Day Park Hopper Passes: Gate Prices: $229 (Adults) $199 (Child) NEW G.A.T. Price $189 (Adults) $159 (Child) Savings= $40/Ticket
  • 5-Day Park Hopper Passes: Gate Prices: $249 (Adults) $219 (Child) NEW G.A.T. Price $199 (Adults) $169 (Child) Savings= $50/Ticket
  • 6-Day Park Hopper Passes: Gate Prices: $254 (Adults) $214 (Child) NEW G.A.T. Price $204 (Adults) $174 (Child) Savings= $50/Ticket
NOTE: All 3-day or longer tickets from Get Away Today include one Magical Mornings entrance. Magical Mornings are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. These tickets are sent electronically and can be picked up at any ticket window (or during check-in if you're staying at any of the 3 Hotels of the Disneyland Resort) and just require photo id.

If anyone knows of an even better deal on tickets, please let me know! :)

*UPDATE: Katie just let me know of an even better deal through AAA! Look below in the comments to see... Thanks Katie!

  1. AAA members can also get a discount. I know you have to pre-pay for them, but the savings make it worth it. Ironically, we're going next week for the first time and my mom is a AAA member. She's calling today to see if she can buy the tickets for us or if we actually need to present our AAA card at the gate. I'll comment again when we find out. We're only going for 1 day, then heading down to San Diego, so the park hopper deals won't work for us. :(

  2. Those hopper passes are the best! I used them when I was in 10th grade and my school band went to Disney World in Orlando. I love the idea and it's so nice to have. You can spend half the day at MGM and the evening at Epcot for example or whatever you want to do. It's just really nice to have and I think it makes the trip more enjoyable.

  3. Okay, just got the info on the AAA discounts. I only asked about a 2 day park hopper and instead of $151 for an adult and $131 for a child, it's $133 for an adult and $116 for a child, plus free parking passes for the parks for both days. A pretty good savings of about $50 for a family of 4!

And they are fine with someone WITH a AAA card pre-purchasing the tickets for someone else WITHOUT a AAA card. My mom was very open when she went to the AAA office and they didn't seem to care at all. So if you know someone with a AAA membership, offer to buy them lunch for hooking you up!
