PUR and the Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program (CSDW), are committed to providing clean drinking water to those in need. *Currently, 4,000 children in developing countries die every day from illness and disease related to unsafe drinking water.
On January 7th, PUR is partnering with “Summit on the Summit” (SOTS), a celebrity climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro featuring Jessica Biel, Alexandra Cousteau and others that will raise awareness and funds for clean drinking water efforts. Find out more HERE.
A portion of the proceeds from the climb will go to benefit the CSDW Program. Anyone in the U.S. can join the climb and the clean drinking water cause by purchasing a PŪR pitcher or faucet mount system. Purchasing a PŪR system will donate a week’s worth of clean drinking water to children in need in the developing world.
Donations from purchases of PUR pitchers and faucet mounts will go towards the CSDW goal of providing more than 4 billion liters of clean drinking water in the developing world from 2007-2012, preventing an estimated 160 million days of diarrheal illness and saving an estimated 20,000 lives.
Why Is PUR a Smart Choice for Families?
By simply using a PUR water filter, you will remove many of the common contaminants found in drinking water. Including: 94% of atrazine, 98% of lead and other metals, 99.9% of microbial cysts and 96-99% of pharmaceuticals.
Switching from bottled water to filtered water and a reusable bottle can save one person up to $600 a year and eliminate up to 3,200 plastic bottles. For additional program details, visit PURWater.com
PUR has generously offered to give one Good Deal Gal reader their very own PUR Water Pitcher!

We sometimes take simple things like having clean, pure water to drink for granted. Many people in the world don't have this simple benefit.

If you have read any of the recent studies about the contents in our drinking water you are probably alarmed at what is considered safe by government standards. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) works to protect us and they have set what are considered to be ‘Drinking Water Standards’, which means, these standards should be adhered to by all municipal water companies. I got my certified water filter from
