Hopefully the new look creates a clean, calming feeling. :) And, hopefully, it loads quicker and it just as easy (if not easier) to navigate.
There are still some minor tweaks and changes that I'll, eventually, get to and quite possibly a Wordpress migration down the road.... but, for now, I'm semi-satisfied.
There are navigation linkys still at the top and, although they don't drop-down, they are actual pages so those topics have all the links you need to get where you need to go.
Over on the right, feel free to search for anything and everything by using either the search bar (under "Looking for Something?") or by using the drop-down menu under "Categories."
At the very bottom of the site you'll notice a couple of new links including an "About Me" section and a new contact form. Feel free to contact me at any time - even though it may take me a while to get back to you, I love hearing your comments!
You'll also see lots of great sponsors who are helping to support this site! (Please take a moment and visit them.) I will never enter into a sponsor/partnership with anyone or business who I do not personally feel comfortable working with. Likewise, I will never compromise my moral ethics by referring you to companies that have questionable business practices.

ReplyDeleteMy main complaint before was that the site took a while to load and the only thing on the first screen was the banner. This is a much "cleaner" look and there is some actual content on the first screen.
I like the "open-in-a-new page" idea, because I can go back to where I was after I click on a link.

ReplyDeleteAs far as the links in new windows goes, I did the same thing on my blog a while back at the request of readers. Unfortunately, I got a lot of complaints. I think either option can be frustrating. The solution I finally came up with was to open external links in a new window and internal links in the same window. This seems to have pleased most of my readers. You can find a tutorial for how to do that here:
