** I have 2 extra kids this week and they're picky-picky when it comes to what they like to eat. I'm going to do my best to feed them foods they are used to, but put a healthy little twist on things!
BREAKFAST:
- Whole Grain Pancakes (use applesauce instead of sugar) and Scrambled Eggs x2
- Fruit Smoothies (w/ kale - they won't even know!) and flax toast w/ organic peanut butter
- Pumpkin Muffins and cottage cheese w/ strawberries
- Dry cereal and fruit
- Steel-cut oatmeal sweetened w/ applesauce
- Vegetable Breakfast Hash
- Veggies: Cucumbers, Carrots, Red Peppers, Broccoli, Spinach, Asparagus, Cauliflower, Yams, Kale
- Fruits: Bananas, Grapes, Mangos, Avocados, Blueberries, Strawberries, Cherries, Tomatoes
- Cheese - Tillamook, Mozzarella, Feta and Cottage
- Greek Yogurt
- Air-popped popcorn
- Graham Crackers w/ organic peanut butter
- Grilled Turkey Wraps on Flat-out bread
- Homemade BBQ beans, cornbread and salad
- Pizza and fruit/veggie kabobs (swim play date)
- Quesadillas on flat-out bread and fruit/veggies
- Tuna pasta salad
- Cauliflower Mac & Cheese and salad
- Leftovers
- Chicken & Vegetable Stir-fry w/ brown rice
- Tilapia "sticks" and vegetables
- Black Bean Tacos
- Baked Spaghetti w/ ground turkey and whole wheat noodles
- Baked Yams and grilled veggies
- Breakfast-for-Dinner: Choose-any-3-Veggies and Cheese Omelettes
- Eat at Quiznos (Kids Eat FREE and BOGO coupons for the big people!!)
Your menu truly inspires me to eat healthier! I wish I liked all of these foods...maybe I'm like one of those picky kids. ;) Seriously, though, thanks for posting and being a role model for a healthy lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I tried the BOGO and kids meal deal at Quiznos and they wouldn't honor both deals together. It may have just been my location though. Its worth a shot. We ended up getting the $5 foot long to split and munched on our kiddos chips and shared their free drinks. We love their raspberry lemon aid!
